What Comes After the Foundation Program ?

At the end of the 2nd semester, UniKL's administration would ask its student to choose  3 from 5/6 universities in France to further their studies in. Namely, Science PO (Le Havre Campus), European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL, Lille), IÉSEG School of Management (Lille), SKEMA Business School (Sophia Antipolis) , Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM, Grenoble) and Toulouse Business School (TBS, Toulouse). Of course in the end you would only enter either one.

Essentially, Science PO and ESPOL offers an education in social sciences while IÉSEG, SKEMA,GEM and TBS are business schools. In short, after the foundation, you would either be stepping into the field of social sciences or business.

Each of the schools have a great connection with the foundation program's head coordinator. In order to help us understand more of their schools, each of them would organize an engagement session with the students of the foundation program where they would explain their bachelor degree's programs, the schools environment, how Malaysians are fitting in over there in France and you may even get the chance to meet with some seniors. The representatives from each school are also extremely friendly during the engagement sessions, just feel free to ask them anything that you are curious to know. Usually, these sessions takes place during the second semester of the foundation program.

I would like to highlight that, the foundation program emphasizes more on the social sciences subjects. You can see this clearly from the coefficients of each subject in each test from the table that I uploaded before this. Social Sciences subjects are such as History, Academic Skills for Science PO, Politics & International Relations and Research Project. While the closest thing related to business that the program offers is business management and economics.

Its totally normal if you are still unsure of which path to take, but I ensure you either one is fulfilling. I personally lean towards the social sciences branch. You just have to do research on your own about each school and by that you will get more sense of which school you would want to enter. contacting seniors is also a good way.

From what i've been told, all these schools seem to have a special connection with UniKL MFI, (please dont quote me on this), the french embassy are aware of malaysian's presence in France in their school, and admission usually isnt too difficult. only Science PO, this school is harder to enter than the rest, cause we are competing with everyone around the world to enter it, no special treatment whatsoever, but for other schools, the admission procedure is relatively simple and easier to get into.

each subject has their coefficient which would be taken into account for your overall results for each test. For the time being , I'm just gonna share the percentage rather than how to calculate your overall results just so that you emphasize on the subjects with a higher coefficient.

*coefficients for SEM I & SEM II are the same

Tests

Each semester , we have 3 exams (test 1 , test 2 and the finals). To give you a better idea of the period between these tests , here is my batch's academic calender.

As you can see , the schedule is extremely packed , even if semester 3 seems more chillax (it isn't), we still have an additional subject (which doesn't make things easier)and they are getting tougher and tougher, so this is indeed a very demanding foundation programme.

Excluding the finals , for other tests , you do not have the whole week off to revise ,you have to take exams while following the syllabus. My sincere advice would be to follow and digest your lessons continuously, don't study last minute, cuz the hard truth is gonna be that , you won't even get that last minute to revise before taking the tests.

The Introduction

 Hi SPM leavers,

Without a doubt , you guys are here after JPA has opened their applications for the JKPJ programme and you see the "SOCIAL SAINS" course. yup, I was once like you, the only difference would be that I couldn't land on any informative blog haha. really I didn't find much on this programme before entering yet I still feel so appreciative for the chance to be admitted.

A little info about me,  I am from the SPM2020 batch, it's currently my semester break period where I finally find the time and motivation to write this blog. In two weeks time , I'm gonna start the third semester of the foundation programme before leaving for France.

This is just a short introduction to what I am gonna share on this cite for the coming weeks. It will mainly compose of the paths after of this "Sains Sosial" scholarship programme "sponsored" by JPA , the contents of the foundation, UniKL's (our preparatory programme's institution) environment and other insignificant but fun facts worth sharing.

The main objective is just to give you guys an overall idea of this course and what the future education/career prospects that comes with your entry into this programme. Some people received this scholarship with the idea that they would get to study law and that is just wholly untrue and you may leave now if that is your sole goal haha...JK stay tune and you will wrap your head around what the programme has to offer.

(my goal is to at least talk about the things I've stated in the third paragraph before the results of SPM2021 are released so that you guys can consider applying for this scholarship.)
